Skin Reacion

Immediately the treated area will appear red, raised, swollen, tender and sensitive. Take a paracetamol, if you need to. The redness will last for 1-8 hours, however, the swelling may persist for another 2-3 days or longer depending on the type and size of the lesion.

Contraindications

Contraindications are health problems that could stop or interfere with procedure.

These are coronary (heart), vascular or blood disorders, e.g. blood clotting function impaired, the use of anticoagulant medication. Pregnancy, asthma, metal implants, diabetes, recent operations or skin injuries (6 months), high or low blood pressure can be restrictive or contraindicated to electrolysis treatment.  Also, pace maker, keloid scarring, allergies, bruises, active herpes (cold sores), sun burns, recently peformed dermabrasion will render the treatment impossible.  Any suspicious mole should be assessed by your GP whose consent for its removal will be sought.

Aftercare

First and foremost, please ensure that you keep the treated area meticulously clean and dry for the first 48 hours post treatment.

Over the next 14 day +

  • DO NOT CLEANSE OR MOISTURISE FOR 24 HOURS.

  • After 24 hours wash area very carefully & gently.

  • Keep area dry to promote scab formation.

  • Do not rub area with flannels or towels – rub off healing skin!

  • No exfoliation, scrubs or peels.

  • Use Masks with care.

  • Protect skin from the sun.

  • No Picking

  • Do not remove scabs.

  • IF CRUSTS ARE REMOVED PITTING OR SCARRING CAN RESULT

  • Do not use thick oily cosmetics

  • No soaking Baths – softens scabs

  • No swimming – softens scabs.
